How To Get Rid Of Stretch Marks

by Shauna Moline

How do you remove stretch marks (arguably one of a females most common physical ailments)? Stretch marks aren't just a bane of gals though, men suffer them too. To put it simply, if you have gotten hefty or slimmed down rapidly at any point in time, got into lifting weights, or given birth then you have most likely been involved with stretch marks at some time in your life.

Some of us are just so distressed about our stretch marks, we begin to conceal the affected spots - it can't be comfortable for anybody to have to go to that extreme, instead you need to take action. Stretch marks are an embarrassing sight, there is no two ways about it, but giving up and letting them design your wardrobe just isn't the best way to go about mending the issue - it's your skin and you must keep it in the best of shape.

Eliminating stubborn stretch marks isn't always cheap and finding quality products amongst all the hype and advertising being pushed upon us as we search for an honest treatment can be overwhelming. Those who can afford it often choose the route of microdermabrasion, or even laser surgery, in an attempt to get it right the first time. Such ventures are very costly though, and they often have an only slightly better chance at succeeding than creams or more natural cures.

The purchase of Stretch mark removal creams and lotions designed specifically for treating stretch marks are one method most people use, but you can also make your own lotions by purchasing vitamin E tablets and taking daily or the capsules containing the oil themselves - break them open and rub them gently onto the affected area.

Getting rid of stretch marks can be done from home too! If you time when you apply creams, bought or home-made then you can regulate how your skin ingests the creams for maximum potential benefit. Applying after a shower or bathing, can make a huge difference to how well the cream 'sinks' into your skin thus increasing the elasticity which is what was lost when the stretch marks happened in the first place.

A lot of skeptics claim that lotions don't get past your first layer of skin, but this is because they apply it at the wrong times. After that shower or bath, your body will absorb the stretch mark removal cream more effectively, and you will see a better result in your fight against stretch marks.

Fixing your skin problems could just mean taking a better look at what's on your dinner plate. Often we sabotage our efforts at healthy skin by eating or drinking the wrong things. For example, did you know that you can decrease your chances of getting sunburned by simply drinking more water and less of the popular "healthy" drinks? Think about that the next time you are trying to make your skin healthier.

Look at this way. You can't fix the dead and broken cells that are causing your skin problems, but you can fix the ones right below them! Keeping yourself healthy, drinking a lot of water, eating a healthy diet, and getting your vitamins will increase your body's natural ability to heal itself. It won't get rid of your stretch marks in the blink of an eye, but getting a healthier body is worth the wait, isn't it?
